Made in 1996 and shown as part of the Bookarts Coastline exhibition in Brighton and France.
At the time of responding to the brief of Coastline I was reading an article by William Woollard in which he explored the coastlines of our mind from a Buddhist perspective. I was looking to find a way to visualise some of the key aspects of the article so I chose goldfish in water as my metaphor. The fluidity of the movement of the fish through water seemed to resonate with the spirit of the constantly shifting experience of the human mind.
