Findon Farm For Sale 1946

According to his instruction, upon the death of Albert Short Junior in 1945, the farm went up for sale.

It seems that the auction in 1945 realised the sale of Soldiers Field and then a second auction in 1946 realised the sale of the remaining lots.

Ian Short remembers that Soldier’s Field was purchased by Ryan Price and Ellen Short bought the two cottages at Nepcote.

Ellen Short’s paperwork confirms that she bought the two cottages at Nepcote, continuing to let the southern cottage to a Mr H.Long, whilst Ellen and her mother Alice made the northern cottage their home.
